Maynard James Keenan is a prog-rock god among Gen X and Y.  This former leader of bands such as Tool and A Perfect Circle is now an eco-conscious vintner.  Many of our LA trendsetters are excited to see him in person at this bottle signing and wine tasting.  This aligns with a trend toward discernment that we've been tracking for years among our panelists:  at younger and younger ages, these consumers are striving to develop a refined palette, eating and drinking for sophisticated flavors rather than just to get "full" or to "party."   Wine is benefitting hugely from this trend, as well as spirits with more complex flavor profiles such as whiskey.
