Millennial Generation set to Rock the Vote

Here is one take on the influence of the Millennials in the presidential campaigns. Among other things, the article suggests that Millennials are less swayed by smear attacks from opposing candidates and the media (i.e. criticisms about Obama's links to the Revered Wright). We think this is because the generation has a different attitude towards heroes. Nobody is perfect -- the Millennials have learned that all too well, growing up in an era of unprecedented scandals (from Clinton-Lewinsky to Enron to, quite likely, a teacher or figurehead in their own community). As a result, pointing out their candidate's flaws won't have the same effect on them as it did on Boomers. It's just, as Obama is quoted as saying, "the old way of doing things."
