Williamsburg's "Hipster Doctor" Redefines Industry

Jay Parkinson MD just opened his new doctor's office and company, Hello Health, in Brooklyn. Affectionally called "the hipster doctor" by sites such as Gawker, Parkinson's company is revolutionizing the medical industry in a very Gen Y way. No insurance is needed - just sign up for a monthly subscription, and all your visits and communication are free. Best of all, as a Hello Health subscriber, you can text, IM, video chat, and email with your doctors. Parkinson is also developing a Facebook-like platform for doctors to communicate easily with their patients. In addition
to their hip office (which is of course located in the heart of Williamsburg, right near the Bedford Ave subway stop), Parkinson and his doctors will even come to your home! Like Jet Blue and Virgin did for the airline industry, Hello Health is eliminating the hassles associated with the medical world, and taking its communciation platforms out of the dark ages.

More and more categories will continue to be updated in this way by thought leaders such as Parkinson. And companies can get a big tip from them on how to ensure they are communicating with Gen Y the way they communicate with each other -- not just in advertising gimmicks, but in how the product is delivered and incorporated into the consumers' lives.
